“I find her [Hannah McFarland] to have an excellent analytical style. When she makes a comparison, I can actually see what she is talking about. That would be very impressive to a jury.”
-Stephen R. Kay, Head Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles (read more testimonials here.)
Hannah:
I am attaching the court’s findings. You will see the court found your testimony very credible and determined the document to not contain an authentic signature of Dr. Schnoor. This results in substantial issues for Dr. Schnoor being resolved, not the least of which was that he was gifting the property equity to Holly Robbins.
Thanks for the valuable help

Dear Ms. McFarland,
I wanted to send you a brief letter thanking you for your services in providing hand writing analysis for Mr. Trujillo in the above referenced matter. Based upon the opinions and conclusions in your report of October 25, 2010, the Plaintiff agreed to dismiss all of its claims.
Again, thank you for your services in this matter.
Very truly yours,
— Stephen P. Hennessey
Compared with other experts from numerous fields with whom I have interacted during my 27 years of practice, Ms. McFarland distinguished herself in the following respects: She convinced the jury not only of her experience in the field but also her currency; and she withstood cross-examination with ease-giving confident, knowledgeable, and convincing answers to all questions. I would hire Ms. McFarland again if the need arose and enthusiastically recommend her as an expert witness.

To Whom it May Concern:
My name is Stanley D. Bonner, and I am an attorney in Tacoma, Washington. I am pleased to write this letter of reference on behalf of Hannah McFarland. Herein I describe my dealings with Ms. McFarland.
Recently, our office was defending a client against charges of Identity Theft in the Second Degree and Possession of Stolen Property in the Second Degree. The charges arose from incidents that occurred in Eatonville, Washington, in October of 2013. Someone stole a credit card and made several attempts to use the card. The guilty party also signed a receipt for the purchase of a pack of cigarettes at a grocery store in Eatonville.
Our office asked Ms. McFarland to compare the signature on the receipt with our client’s handwriting. Ms. McFarland collected a number of handwriting samples from our client and then compared these samples with the signature on the receipt. Ms. McFarland concluded that our client’s signature was probably not the signature on the receipt from the grocery store.
We furnished this discovery to the prosecuting attorney on the case. Ms. McFarland’s meticulous analysis, and her carefully enumerated conclusions, helped influence the prosecuting attorney to dismiss the case. In summation, Ms. McFarland’s efforts were helpful to our client. I am grateful for Ms. McFarland’s assistance, and I recommend her to anyone who has need of an expert in the field of handwriting analysis.
Sincerely,
Stanley D. Bonner, WSBA #22604

We won the case last week. The judge decided Mr. Carlbom was entitled to immediate possession of the motorcycle and was also entitled to limited attorney’s fees associated with having to prove that Mr. Maestas had indeed signed the “Receipt for Payment” as you testified.
Thanks for your kind assistance.

Your work on this case was crucial to us winning. Without your testimony, I do not believe that the arbitrator would have found that the defendant had doctored his notes. I will certainly use you in the future.

I want to take a moment to send you a note of thanks for the courtesy and professionalism you showed recently in our case. I am confident in the results and due in no small part to your assistance.
Your direct examination was thorough and to the point. Your responses under cross examination were appropriate, responsive, and consistent. Likewise your responses to the judge’s questions were not only appropriate but helpful as well. Please feel free to use my name as a reference with respect to any future work you might be seeking from the legal community.

In our matter a Police Department Sergeant testified that the handwriting found on a contested document belonged to my client.
Your testimony and exhibits supported the point that the handwriting did not belong to my client.
I interviewed the jury after the case was over and they told me that your testimony convinced them that the handwriting on this specific document was not my client’s handwriting.
Should I need a document examiner in the future, I will not hesitate to hire you for such testimony nor would I hesitate to recommend you to other members of the Washington Assn. of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
